Ben Vance, CPA, ABV

Director

bvance@fw-cpa.com

Ben Vance brings almost 20 years of experience in business valuation, transactions, and family office services to lead Faulk & Winkler’s growing Advisory service line. Ben advises owners of small- and mid-size businesses whose wealth is significantly tied to their business(es) to understand their value, pursue strategic growth, evaluate professional partnerships, and plan for transitions.

Working alongside in-house finance departments, Ben guides clients in acquiring another business, bringing on partners, selling a minority interest, or executing an outright exit. This work might entail quality of earnings analyses (QOE), valuations for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, or ownership transitions including Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP), succession and estate planning, and shareholder transactions.

Selling a business takes considerable time and effort, and most owners inadvertently start behind the eight-ball. The key to Ben’s work is developing strategies for owners to proactively plant the seeds for major changes to their business, to grow strategically and maximize value. Bringing Ben in early in the process positions clients to build financial and operational systems that make the best deal possible.

With a focus on meeting business owners’ strategic goals, Ben also works closely with attorneys, investment bankers, financial advisors to support his clients in ownership disputes and estate planning/ succession. His industry experience includes construction, industrial, real estate, manufacturing, distribution, and energy services, as well as closely held and family-owned businesses.
